Negative consequences of the closure of the profitable gambling zone

The chief engineer of the closed casino “Shambala”, which was located in the gambling zone “Azov City”, shared information with journalists about the state of affairs of the former successful project. Today he and some other ICRZ employees dismantle equipment that did not have time to pay off in five years of work. According to the calculations made before the zone was open, to recoup the funds invested in Azov City, it would take 15 years.

The equipment of the casino is sent to the Primorsky Territory. Naturally, now its cost is several times lower than it was spent on its purchase. However, there is no choice, according to the former chief engineer of Shambhala. Here it is no longer useful.

The gambling zone brought significant profit to the budget of the Krasnodar Territory. Over the past year of existence, more than one billion rubles have been received. The opening of Azov City brought undoubted benefit to the region, although initially there were fears that the easy access of the local population to gambling would bring serious problems. In fact, a collapsing infrastructure was established, many new jobs appeared, and the influx of investment in the region has grown significantly.

The closing of the ICRZ led to a serious outflow of part of the population from the region. They leave with whole families, as many citizens lost their jobs, but there are no new ones in the Krasnodar Territory. Some people went to the Kaliningrad region to get to local gambling establishments. In fact, such frequent movements of families with children negatively affect the development of the younger generation. However, the government did not think about this when it made a decision to close the most profitable gambling zone of the Russian Federation.

It is hoped that the negative consequences of such decisions will be studied, and in the future they will not be made.
